In-Home Consultation

We come to you, look at the subfloor, take moisture readings, talk through species and finish options, and leave a written quote — no high-pressure sales.

Sample & Selection

You take real wood samples home. We stain them with Bona DriFast or DuraSeal in the colors you're considering and place them in your actual light. The floor you pick is the floor you get.

Skilled Installation

Our own crew, never subcontractors. Plywood-flat subfloors, racked dry-runs, hand-selected boards. Furniture moved, vents cut clean, transitions perfect.

Finish & Walk-Through

Final coat with Bona, clean cure, and a walk-through with you. We leave behind a care kit and stand behind every floor we lay.

Stuff people ask before they call us.

How long does a sand & refinish actually take?

Most homes are 3 to 5 days from sander-on to walk-through. Big projects or whole-house jobs can run a week. We give you a real timeline at the estimate — not a guess — and stick to it.

Do I have to leave my house during the job?

For installs, you can usually stay — we work room by room. For sanding and refinishing, the dust containment keeps it cleaner than most jobs you've seen, but the finish needs to cure. We'll lay out exactly which rooms are off-limits and for how long.

Is your dust containment actually clean? Pets, kids, asthma?

Every sander, edger, and buffer is connected to a sealed containment system that captures the vast majority of fine wood dust at the source. It's not magic — there's still some — but it's a fraction of what older methods leave in your HVAC and on your furniture. Bona finishes are GreenGuard Gold certified for kid and pet-safe environments.

Will the stain match what I picked online?

We bring real wood samples to your space, stain them with the Bona DriFast or DuraSeal color you're considering, and let you see them in your actual light — morning, afternoon, evening. The floor you pick is the floor you get.

Do you move the furniture?

Yes. We move everything that's reasonable to move. Pianos, gun safes, and the antique armoire your grandmother gave you — those we'll talk about. We're flooring guys, not movers, but we've never met a couch we couldn't handle.

Hardwood vs LVP — what should I actually pick?

Hardwood lasts decades and adds real value to your home. LVP is fully waterproof, kid & pet bulletproof, and a fraction of the cost — great for kitchens, basements, and rentals. We do both well and won't push you toward one. We'll walk your space and tell you straight.

Are you insured?

Yes — fully insured. We carry general liability and workers' comp on every crew member, and we're happy to send certificates before we start.

What areas do you serve?

DC, Maryland, and Virginia — the entire DMV. Most jobs are in Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville, Potomac, Chevy Chase, Gaithersburg, Annapolis, Arlington, Alexandria, McLean, Fairfax, and Falls Church. Outside that radius? Call us — we still might.
